Live Like You’re Loved

Living like you’re loved sounds like some trash saying you’d find on a t-shirt. Not only does it sound ridiculous, you have to think is that even possible, is this a thing that people actually do and if people actually live like this then, what does that even look like? (Sorry for the run-on) Well, I challenge you to think about it this way: think back to a time when you were in love and had someone who loved you. How special it made you feel. How at just the thought of the other person made you smile.

It’s like a sense of security that no one can take from you because you’re all wrapped up in it. It covers you like a blanket and fills you up inside. It truly is the best feeling in the world. You even walk around with your head a little higher and a little pep in your step because you know that there is someone in the world that loves you for you. So, it’s ok when Susan when from accounts receivables tries to get all in your business because in the end you have more important things to worry about like being loved.

With that being said, it’s clearly easier to live like you’re loved when you are being loved. But what about those times you’re hopelessly single or feeling desperately alone. The truth is we are never alone and are always loved. See, I believe that God created us in his image and so desperately wants to have a deep relationship with us all. When we long for a connection with another person and but when it eludes us often we are stuck feeling loveless. If we stood in the relationship with have with our Creator, we would always be able to live loved because no matter what we do His love for us will never change. In the Bible, God lays out many promises that we can always rely on when we need love. In John 15:12-13, the Bible says “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (NIV)

We all look for the love like we see in the movies or read in the books and in my experience, I have never found anything that matches up to what I’ve expected. But if we were just able to step into the love that God provides for us which is free, we would find the love that surpasses what we see in the movies. So, I challenge you to look beyond your circumstances and how you feel about yourself and know that there is One who loves you more than you could ever imagine.

With this I say, choose to be live as you’re loved because you truly are.
